The Holidays Are Here- Again

The wild ride of the holidays seems to be approaching faster and faster the older I get. Besides the beauty of the lights and the smells of cinnamon and forest fir in our homes, there are the perpetual blasts we get in our email boxes and pop-ups at every turn.

I am part of these shenanigans. There is no escaping the need for holiday full throttle when you own both a brick-and-mortar business and an ecommerce business. I fully admit I can’t compete with the big cheeses. I actually don’t really want to. I enjoy the space I have made in my life separate from my business life and as much as I love packing orders and shipping them all across the country, I don’t want to lose myself in being strapped to the shipping counter I created to be able to do this.

I will not bombard you with deals and flashy discounts this year. I can’t take them in my own inbox and it would feel hypocritical of me to inundate you. I want to be different. I want you to head to my website like you are walking into my store. I want it to feel calm and joyful. Read a blog, browse my favorite books, look at some of my ideas for gift boxes or find a recipe you like and try it out.

My goal as I head into 2023 is to have my website be like my brick-and-mortar space. A place to come hang out when you need to relieve your busy brain and feel some sort of connection through the airwaves.

I have made a lot of changes to the many moving parts of my business, and I have my team to thank for this.

MY MIGHTY TEAM

It takes a village, as they say, and running a brick-and-mortar and ecommerce space is no joke. My team of 4.5 has saved me by saying yes to every blossoming idea I invent every day. Besides their real job of skin care stellar treatments, they have jumped in, done inventory, added items to the website, reorganized the space, came in early, stayed late, and continue to keep me calm- if this is even possible. If it weren’t for them, I would have called it quits at the beginning of 2021. But here we are, STILL STANDING. Julie, Kristina, Corey, Tracy (and my beloved Mt. Hope High School interns who helped me navigate the social media shit show, Liv and Gabby).
