Pumpkin, Pumpkin Everywhere | Why It’s Essential For Your Skincare

Every year around this time pumpkin becomes positively prolific - whether you have a couple decorating your front porch or you swing by your local coffee stop for your daily pumpkin latte it’s hard to deny that it’s definitely one of the more popular seasonal gourds. (Okay, it’s actually probably the only popular seasonal gourd.) In recent years, however, it’s been increasingly common to see pumpkin popping up in various beauty products - not just this time of year - although they certainly get a seasonal boost - but year round. But what’s the big deal about pumpkin? Why are beauty companies rushing to include it in their scrubs, masks, and washes? Why are restaurants including it in all of their seasonal dishes and food manufacturers adding it into their superfood menus?

What Makes Pumpkin So Powerful

As a food, pumpkin is chock full of protein and fiber. In fact, one cup of canned pumpkin contains 7 grams of fiber and 3 grams of protein - and there’s even more if it’s fresh. There’s also 50% of the recommended daily value of Vitamin K, which may reduce some forms of cancer. The seeds, however, are the real powerhouse. They contain a huge amount of protein, magnesium, potassium, and zinc and provide a ton of health benefits - such as preventing depression. Basically, feel free to indulge in an extra helping of pumpkin pie this holiday season!

When it comes to skincare, though, pumpkin is even more impressive. Not only is it loaded with Vitamin C, which we all know is an excellent source of anti-aging and brightening power, but it also contains alpha hydroxy acids which are similar to glycolic and lactic acids. These acids help break down dead skin cells which therefore increases cell regeneration and turnover and keeps skin bright. Additionally it contains beta carotene which reduces wrinkles, fights off brown spots, and can help reverse sun damage. That’s pretty powerful stuff!

One of the most essential components of good skincare is getting into a treatment routine. Hands down, our experience is that two treatments always offer a cumulative effect. The first one gets all the congestion and the old cells up and out, the second is where the magic happens. Don’t even get us started about the third and the forth. When you take care of your skin, you need less makeup, less layers of at-home skin care, and your skin will be way less needy.

Throughout November and December we’re offering the Pumpkin Revitalizing Treatment as both a single treatment and a series. Purchase the single treatment for $95, or the series of two treatments for $160 (both treatments must be used by December 31, 2018) to really enjoy all the benefits this power gourd has to offer.
